Alderson Park in South Wentworthville was undergoing a major transformation to better serve the growing community. The upgrade included anew play space, fitness zone, and sports facilities, along with picnic areas, a water fountain, and accessible seating. A key goal of the project was to enhance accessibility and sustainability, ensuring that green spaces remain welcoming and functional for all residents.
Solution
We were engaged by Moir Studio and Perfection Landscapes early in the design phase to discuss the benefits of Play Matta’s recycled safety surfacing. Our solution was selected for its durability, low maintenance, and long lifespan, aligning with the council’s commitment to sustainable and cost-effective infrastructure. The loop path connecting various park features further enhances accessibility, allowing all visitors to enjoy the space with ease.
Outcome
The upgraded Alderson Park now offers a safe, inclusive, and environmentally friendly space for the community. By integrating long-lasting, recycled surfacing, Cumberland City Council has invested in a low-maintenance and future-proof solution that will support active lifestyles for years to come.
