Project Overview:            

Titirangi Primary School had real issues with drainage at their senior playground. Titirangi can be a damp area in winter, due to the abundance of native bush and year-round shade. The playground area had been neglected for a long time and the result was a muddy mess for the children. The playground was also non-compliant with New Zealand standard and so needed to be replaced.

The area presented a long and narrow layout with tricky access, requiring larger excavation and drainage solutions to ensure longevity and compliance with NZ standards.

Solution:

We removed all existing equipment and addressed the faulty woodchip installation to create a suitable base for redevelopment. Our team managed the installation of drainage systems throughout the play area to ensure year-round usability.

Collaborating closely with Park Supplies & Playgrounds during the construction phase, we integrated our Play Matta Original solution seamlessly with their amazing play equipment. By maximizing space and adhering to fall zone requirements under NZ standards, we created a dynamic, inclusive, and vibrant playground experience for the children at Titirangi Primary School.

Outcome:

The result of our collaboration is a fun, accessible playground that caters to the diverse needs of the children at Titirangi School. By addressing drainage issues and maximising space, we've transformed a neglected area into a thriving play area that children can enjoy year-round.
