The Eurobodalla Shire Council wanted to expand and upgrade the Malua Bay Beach Reserve to include an expanded play space, new picnicfacilities, a toilet block, pathways, and landscaping. Accessibility was a keypriority to ensure the new playground catered to all ages, as well as protecting the foreshore areas and dunes.
Solution
We partnered with CRS Creative Recreation Solutions to provide Play Matta safety surfacing. Our surfaces can be ramped into the ground, fitted with ramped edges, or fitted flush with surrounding surfaces. This design facilitates easy access for wheelchairs and pushchairs while minimising the risk of trips and falls when entering or exiting the play area.
Outcome
The installation of Play Matta created a safe and accessible playground surfacing area. Malua Bay Beach playground now offers additional options for children of all ages while ensuring environmental protection of the bay.
