Queanbeyan–Palerang Regional Council sought a solution for the deteriorating surface at Lowe Street Play Area, which was shrinking and affecting both the aesthetics, functionality and compliance of the space.
The goal was to replace the surface with a durable, low-maintenance alternative that would not only extend the life of the play structures but also create a more inviting and vibrant environment for the community. Rather than removing and sending the existing surface to landfill, Play Matta Re-Cover was selected as the ideal solution.
Recycled Play Matta tiles were simply installed over the top of the existing surface, utilising its fall height characteristics, while providing the look and feel of a brand new play surface. Not only is this along-lasting and warranted solution, but it also re-purposes the existing surface (saving it from landfill) and is low maintenance, providing a great sustainable outcome for Queanbeyan–Palerang Regional Council.
