The City of Port Phillip Council faced a significant challenge with the outdoor play area at Bubup Kindergarten. Previous installations with garden beds, soil, and mulch led to severe drainage issues, causing water to leak into the building below.

Solution:

To address these problems, we installed Play Matta Original on35mm and 75mm shock pads, creating a free-draining and soft surface for the children. This solution ensured that the rooftop play area remained dry and safe for use, eliminating the previous drainage blockages.

Challenges:

Access was the biggest hurdle, as the only entry point was from the primary school football oval behind the building. We craned the materials to the rooftop over a weekend, successfully overcoming this logistical challenge.

The new play area at Bubup Kindergarten now provides a safe, dry and enjoyable space for children. Our client is delighted with the result, which has resolved their drainage issues and enhanced the usability of the outdoor space.
