San Vicente Elementary School, like many others in the district, faced significant issues with their existing poured-in-place (PiP) surfacing. Over time, the PiP had deteriorated, leading to safety concerns, and the school had been stuck in a costly cycle of patching and re-patching. In search of a more sustainable and long-lasting solution, they turned to Play Matta Re-Cover.
Solution
Play Matta Re-Cover was the ideal solution for San Vicente Elementary, providing a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to replacing their entire PiP surface. The product not only revitalized the worn-out play area but also helped maintain safety compliance and accessibility. The school loved the unique look of Play Matta and appreciated the durability and longevity it offered, eliminating the need for constant repairs.
Outcome
We completed the project within a short window before the new school year began. By re-covering the existing PiP surface, Play Matta Re-Cover extended the life of the playground, prevented further deterioration, and saved the PiP from ending up in landfill—all while providing a safe, vibrant space for students to play.
